Why Bariatric Surgery?
Gastric Bypass surgery can be truly life changing – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Reserved only for the significantly obese or those who have deadly diseases as a result of their weight, gastric bypass surgery has an incredibly promising success rate. On average, Dr. Myers' gastric bypass patients lose an average of 85 percent or more of their excess weight within those first 12 months after surgery. Some have even reached their ideal weight. Patients who choose to have an adjustable gastric band procedure are losing 63% of their excess weight when they see Dr. Myers for monthly evaluations during the first year.

It’s not just about weight.
Studies show gastric bypass surgery dramatically cuts cancer and diabetes risks.
A recent study, cited by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), compared two groups of moderately obese diabetic patients. Those who had weight loss surgery were six times more likely to have no evidence of diabetes in two years, compared to those who had more conventional diabetic therapy, like diet and exercise changes.
